Turret Placer Update

Hey guys! Have you been enjoying your shotgun-fired vortices of death? Found good ways to use the explosive ammo? Been looking forward to the next drop?

Without further ado, allow me to introduce you to the Underbarrel Turret Placer!

Every time you gain a level, you get two turrets, which fire a whopping 40 bullets and *shred* nearby enemies. Each bullet counts as a separate source of damage, so these combo really well with, say, the shatterer magazine and a high rate-of fire weapon.

Upgrading the turrets gives you an even powerful option:

The final four bullets in each upgraded turret are identical to the bullets from your primary gun! I'm sure the low-rate-of-fire enthusiasts can see the potential in this...

In other news, we've got a real treat for you coming next week. After a bunch of brainstorms, we've decided that the game is failing to live up to its rogue-like potential because there aren't enough augments; the pool is shallow enough that you can usually pick out the same augments each time and get whatever build you want. To fix this, we're going to devote almost all our attention to new augments and chassis, so you'll be seeing a real uptick in how fast we release content. Look forward to it!

Bug Fixes:

  • Many bugs from V0.0.1, which were fixed in V0.0.2, resurfaced in V0.0.3 because of some inadvertantly reverted code. We hotfixed them back out last Tuesday.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused drones to fail to be summoned depending on what augs they had.
  • Fixed an issue where some stats that should show an improvement when it is reduced were red instead of green. (Damage falloff, bullet spread)
  • Shotgun text fixed when you haven't researched it; previously it hinted it wouldn't come until a future update even though it was simply locked.

Balance Changes:

  • Boss removed. Too many complains that he was unfun to fight. We'll bring him back later in a much more entertaining form...
  • Boss is replaced with an extra-dense wave of monsters around the 12:30 mark.
  • Survive to 13:30 to win.
  • Winning maxes blue research for that gun.
  • HP of enemies lowered: Early game, -0%, late game -50%.
  • Spawn rates of enemies increased: Early game +0%, late game +100%
  • When dragonflies begin spawning, they only spawn for 30 seconds instead of spawning for 60-90 seconds.
  • Tier one dragonfly spawn weight reduced.
  • Research costs lowered drastically.
  • Addons are no longer super expensive.
  • Underbarrels are now more expensive than other slots, reflecting that their slot needs to be unlocked.

Cosmetic Changes:

  • "Hold Shift for more info" in upgrade screen moved and made more prominent.
  • Title screen shows a version number now.
  • Player HP bard brought back to the bottom of the screen
